Growing up, one of the most significant hurdles for me was learning how to value my worth. Because I didn’t have a strong parental figure from the age of 11 years old, I struggled with my sense of security. I had very low self-esteem and felt the need to please everybody.

Over the years, I was lucky to have grown through those difficult times with the help of biblical truths. I was also blessed with life mentors who helped me process my feelings and train my little heart and mind to find hope.

As I started mentoring a few talented photographers over the years, I realised that many are struggling with similar challenges, especially women. We tend to feel like we are not good enough, not doing enough… and we love to compare, then head back to our dark cave of insecurities.

I know what it feels like because I was there fighting the same demons in my mind. I am so grateful that I am now in a better place. The truth is, I still have those thoughts sometimes. But I now have some tools I can use to get out quickly before they get a hold of me. Before they steal all my dreams and my calling in life

When I was thinking of a meaningful gift for my Paris workshop attendees, I realised that I want to equip my students with practical tools. Most women’s love language is words of affirmation, so I was inspired to put together a pack of self – love affirmation cards.

I told them to either get people who believe in them (or even themselves) to write letters about how incredible they truly are. I hope that they will place these cards around their home so they can always remind themselves how beautiful and loved they are.

I used some simple but moving, powerful words that others have said to me as an inspiration for the cards, hoping that they will trigger the process of seeing beauty in oneself.

I genuinely believe that when our hearts are full, we are the greatest position to love, to give and to make an impact on those we care about and this world!
